![]() I thought what would happen is the oldest episode would be swapped out for the newest episode to be swapped in, essentially keeping 5 weeks of the latest episodes on the DVR at all times. That way, by the time 5 episodes have gone by, (5 weeks in most cases) surely everyone would have watched that particular episode and it could safely be deleted. I thought a good solution to save space would be to set all the recordings to record only the first run and save only 5 episodes. So nobody wants to just watch a recorded show, even if it has been previously watched, and then delete it because someone else may not have watched it yet. There are 4 people living in my household that watch a lot of the same shows but at different times. Are there any other advantages with an internet connection? I have no mobile devices and am not all that interested in down loading old programs of any series. I did try to but must have not filled all the fields because the Configure button did not light up. So? So do I have to go to Advanced Setup and enter all the details of this and that. Again, In all other devices I only had to enter the MAC address, there is no security code!!!! The Genie sees the router network and I say connect. I think I got the MAC address of the Genie box, put it in the router and told the Genie to connect. In each case I did only one thing, Entered the MAC address of the device in the routers access list. Now in the past I have connected many external devices to the router with no problem including my smart TV. But after he left I proceeded to attempt such. Of the ones he mentioned none sounded that useful to me. The installer mentioned that getting the Genie box connected to the internet provided many/several additional functions. ![]() The quality of the on-demand content was the main reason we switched. Reset all the boxes again, still won't work.Īt a loss here. ![]() I got home today, and watched a full show of "homeland", came back an hour later to watch another one and nothing worked. If I unplug or reset it, it'll stay on for a few minutes, then it's like it's losing connection with my internet.īut the inconsistency is what I don't get. One thing I noticed is that the small DTV box that shows my "network" light - that light is usually off. I've tried the 'clearmybox' search some people have recommended. I've tried resetting all DTV boxes both software-wise and using the red reset button, i've tired unplugging all of my internet and DTV related devices and plugging them back in. It's not an issue with my internet speed, because it either works or it doesn't - and if it's not working, I cant' even see the episodes/movies let alone try to play them, or even schedule them for recording later.īut, 5% of the time or so, everything works great. This happens on shows I've watched before, and happens probably 95% of the time whenever I try to watch VOD. "Sorry! Right now, we don't have any programs that match the filter you just selected." Other times, I go to a channel, find a show, and pick an episode, and get the message: Having some issues with getting on demand videos to work properly.
